Lynne Ringquist, the mother of 17-year-old Sophie, took the stand as the first witness in the case against Cooper Ouellette. He is accused of her death in May 2023. Her mother stated that Cooper showed up to thier house and told them that something was wrong with Sophie. Her parents rushed her to the hospital, and when she asked Cooper what happened, he said that Sophie stated she needed to throw up, but she didn't tell him in time, and she fell out of the car. Cooper stated that the car was going about 20 MPH when Sophie fell out.
