Deadly Discipline Trial | WI v. Timothy Hauschultz | Full Openings

Opening statements in the case against Timothy Hauschultz happened earlier this week. He is accused of being part of his 7-year-old great-nephew Ethan's death in April 2018. The prosecution claims that Timothy was the guardian of the 7-year-old and his siblings at the time of Ethan's death. Ethan was carrying a heavy piece of wood as punishment when he had trouble walking. The state claims Ethan died of hypothermia, and Timothy was negligent in their care. The defense argued that Timothy did not kill Ethan and instead blamed his teenage son, Damien, who was reportedly supervising the children as they carried heavy logs as punishment.
