Taylor Wright, a 33-year-old former North Carolina police officer turned private investigator in Pensacola, Florida, vanished on September 8, 2017 after asking friend and former crime scene investigator Ashley McArthur to return $34,000 she'd been holding during Taylor's contentious divorce. Investigators discovered Ashley had already spent the money on extravagant gifts for a man she was having a secret affair with. Taylor's body was found a month later on the McArthur family's Britt Road farm, shot in the back of the head, wrapped in a hammock, and buried under concrete and potting soil. Ashley was convicted of first-degree premeditated murder and sentenced to life in prison with a mandatory minimum of 25 years.
