Welcome to Inspired Lives, a creation by award-winning reporter Tony Fama.
Tony was born in the Bronx and has been a proud vegan for more than 20 years. His passion for US history and politics runs deep, and he loves to dive into political memoirs. Regular workouts and running are part of his daily routine, and he is an unabashed cat person
Tony's career in broadcasting began at the young age of 17 at WLNA, a local radio station in Peekskill, New York. It was there that he met Gerry Desmond, the renowned voice of the Hudson Valley. Gerry became his close friend and mentor, teaching Tony to speak in grammatically correct sentences while Tony introduced him to the joys of golf. Despite Gerry's superior skills in both areas, their mutual respect and camaraderie created a lasting bond.
Tony is of Italian descent and spiritually drawn to Buddhism. His daily meditation practice helps him cultivate compassion and loving-kindness toward all sentient beings. Traveling and exploring vegan restaurants around the world are two of Tony's great joys, and he believes that the perfect vegan chocolate chip cookie is as close to heaven as one can get.
Throughout his career, Tony has had the incredible fortune to befriend two of his adolescent idols, Sam Donaldson and Dan Rather. Sam has become a personal friend and mentor, and Tony still pinches himself every time he's with Sam, unable to believe his good luck.
Tony Fama is the creator of several notable projects, including:
